In October 2018, we were very proud to be able to welcome less-able visitors with our new access ramp and lift.
In place of access down a few very steep stairs, visitors can now descend via a ramp over the dry moat. Once inside the Tower at first floor level, there is a passenger lift to take visitors down to the main exhibition level. Due to weight and space restrictions, we do not have the ability to take motorised mobility scooters to the lower level, but we keep a wheelchair on hand for visitors to transfer into.
On the lower level, we have installed ramps throughout so that all areas may be accessed without the need to climb or descend stairs.
Seaford Esplanade enjoys a large amount of free parking, and there is a parking place for disabled badge holders right outside the Martello Tower. There is also an accessible toilet nearby.
Seaford Museum & Heritage Society is grateful for the help and support from the Keith Baker Memorial Trust and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
